Part of Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League.
The National Interscholastic Cycling Association is our lead organizational body. They provide training, insurance and guidance for our Pennsylvania league. Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (“NICA”) develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the United States. NICA provides leadership, services and governance for regional leagues to produce quality mountain bike events, and supports every student-athlete in the development of strong body, strong mind and strong character through interscholastic cycling.
WHO WE ARE
The Laurel Highlands Composite Mountain Bike Team was founded in 2023 and is open to students grades 6-12 who attend public, private, or homeschool in and around Westmoreland County. We currently recruiting children from Greensburg, Hempfield, Norwin, Latrobe, Penn Trafford, Mount Pleasant, Yough, and everywhere in between.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll need a helmet and a functional mountain bike. Need help? Visit our team shop Flat Tire Co., located in Greensburg Pa. They’ll be happy to help you set up your bike properly, discuss bike maintenance, and suspension set-up. Mention your participation on the team to unlock exclusive savings. Scholarships and bicycles are available for the season for athletes in need.
